What to see
Dalt Vila
The steep trek to the cathedral is lined with artists' studios and gift shops selling souvenirs and locally made handicrafts, which provide a welcome respite from the climb. Looking down from the battlements by the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Snows, there are panoramic views of the red tiled cupolas of the 16th century church of Santo Domingo. From here it's also possible to spot the statue of General Joaquin Vara de Rey, the Ibicenco hero of the Cuban War, at the centre of the Main Square.
Ibiza's Beaches
Ibiza features 18kms of natural sandy and pebble beaches all fringed by clear waters. The many coves and inlets dotted around the coast offer everything from diving, quiet seclusion and upbeat beach bars with live DJ's; in addition many of the beaches even offer a history lesson as many feature the remains of past civilisations with crumbling defence towers and other signs of the island's heritage.
For those who enjoy walking and rambling, the Ibizan coast is an interesting and often challenging terrain to explore with many routes and paths offering an off-the-beaten-track experience and a chance to see a unique view of the island.
