Where to stay
Copenhagen offers a wide range of accommodation to suit a variety of needs. With more than 15,000 beds, from friendly B&Bs to five-star luxury hotels, there's something to suit everyone – and you can even bring your own bed and camp.

As a rule of thumb, B&B's offer good value for money as well as an opportunity to meet the Danes on their home turf. Rooms are divided into different categories according to standard and amenities. All rooms have free access to showers/toilets, kitchen facilities in the morning should the host not serve breakfast, bed linen and bath towesl. It is also possible to rent rooms with televisions, private shower/toilet and with served breakfast - this applies for three-star rooms only. Most private rooms do not have private facilities.
"Camping sites are a good and cheaper alternative to hotels and hostels."
There are a number of camping sites in the surroundings of Copenhagen. The Absalon Camping is open all year, while most of the others open for the summer season around Easter time and stay open until mid October. Tents, camping trailers and caravans are welcome at most sites, a few are limited to accepting tents only.
Should you prefer to do your own cooking renting an apartment or a summer cottage for your stay in the greater Copenhagen area is an option. In the city you will mainly find apartments, but outside the city the possibilities of finding a summer cottage increase greatly. This type of accommodation can be an ideal starting point for tours and excursions to and around the city.
