Ibiza's Opening Parties

As the Balearic summer creeps in, thrill-seekers and party-goers flock to Ibiza for the legendary Opening Parties. The clubs, keen to outdo each other, pull every string to make their party the one to remember for the whole season. Spanning from mid-May to late June, Ibiza's Opening Parties have become world renowned for an unrivalled selection of DJ's, dancers and entertainment.

This year's recommended events include the Ibiza Rocks Opening Party, Pure Pacha, Amnesia and Space opening parties, which draw party lovers from around the globe to experience the magic of house music in a unique setting.

Ibiza's Closing Parties

Starting in the second week of September until the first week of October, Ibiza's Closing Parties mark the end of the busy tourist season and for some an end to a summer of hard work and late nights.

For 2010 all of the big clubs including Privilege, Amnesia, Space, Pacha, Eden etc will run a series of closing parties each with a unique and world-class line up.

"The island's government is trying to encourage a more cultured and quieter tourism scene, passing rules including the closing of all nightclubs by 6 a.m. at the latest, and requiring all new hotels to be 5-star. However, many clubs tend to stay open until 7 or 8 a.m., as 6 a.m. is viewed as an unrealistic time for one to stop partying. The administration is wanting to attract a more international mixture of tourists."
