Barcelona has a plethora of unique shops where visitors can find quality goods at competitive prices, as well as top international designer names.

"The city showcases Europe's biggest shopping centre, the Barcelona Shopping Line which offers more than 190 outlets. This five km thoroughfare stretches from the harbour to the uptown Diagonal district, via La Rambla, the old town, the Gothic Quarter and the Passeig de Gràcia and Rambla de Catalunya."

The city offers a mix of traditional and modern shops, which are part of Barcelona's identity and uniqueness. As an example, Barcelona Original is a popular option with visitors and sells items inspired by Barcelona, including textiles, ceramics, jewellery, stationery, travel goods and gift items. The shops are located inside the Turisme de Barcelona information offices in Plaça de Catalunya and Carrer Ciutat (City Hall).

Shops open from 10am until 2pm and from 4.30 until 8 or 8.30pm, although in the city centre most of them remain open at lunchtime. The main department stores and shopping centres open until 10pm.
