Events in Boston

Boston has many events throughout the year. Being the historical centre that it is, the Fourth of July celebrations held on the site where the very nation was born are particularly poignant. The Boston Pops play Stars and Stripes forever with fireworks going off over the Esplanade. The Esplanade is also one of the main hosts for New Year’s Eve festivities. Year long this park which runs alongside the Charles River is host to numerous events including free outdoor movies on Friday nights in the summer. Another big draw is the Boston Marathon which is the oldest annual marathon event in the world founded in 189, attracting around 20,000 runners and 450,000 spectators.
"Boston is also known for its largest Irish contingent and St Patrick’s Day is when everything becomes a shade of green in the South End of Boston, historically where many of Irish descent hail from."
